Simone Legno in Singapore

Hi Huneybees!

I'm so excited! Simone Legno (Tokidoki) was in town recently and I caught him first thing he made an appearance at Takashimaya! I don on my Tokidoki cap and asked Joey along as we were catching a movie together later.

The new range of bags.

An invitation was required if you want a drawing, I "borrowed" from a lady behind us.
So happy to see Simone again!

Simone was burying his head deep in his drawings. He was so humble, asking what the fans want him to draw and he stood up next to each fan for photos. So sweet of him right?

I wished I had the money to buy the bags... :X

Then, it was our turn. Simone signed on my sketchbook and I tore the page for Joey, whilst I asked him to help draw on my mobile. Actually, we were not given the drawing as we didn't buy anything, but darling Simone asked whether we wanted drawing and gave us a drawing each!

The Lion King on sketchbook for  Joey.

And after drawing on my mobile, he drew a Merlion for me... :)
A picture with the man himself.
The drawing Joey got.
So after the autograph session, we bid Simone goodbye and we headed over to GV Marina for our Ayumi Hamasaki 3D concert movie. It was amazing to hear her "live" and see her so upclose. It was like she was performing VIP for us! Joey and I was fascinated by how big her eyes was and at one scene, how can she look like a total doll?!

We caught the first part and I'm contemplating watching the second part late September. Should I?

Beginners - Movie Preview

Hi Huneybees,

I was recently invited to watch the "Beginners" movie starring Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer, Melanie Laurent, Goran Visnjic and a dog named Cosmo. A special thanks to Ruiting for inviting me to the preview because this is the first time I stepped into the Shaw Preview Theatre and not the usual cinema on level 6.

My look for the day.
Cool right? I think this is like the theatre for the big bosses to preview movies before deciding to screen them in their cinemas...
Small capacity for just the limited few.

That's Ruiting.
Credits to Ruiting.
A little synopsis before I give my review...

When it comes to relationships, we’re all beginners.
From writer/director Mike Mills comes Beginners, a comedy/drama about how deeply funny and transformative life can be, even at its most serious moments.
Beginners imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver (Golden Globe Award nominee Ewan McGregor). Oliver meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna (Mélanie Laurent of Inglourious Basterds) only months after his father Hal Fields (Academy Award nominee Christopher Plummer) has passed away.
This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father, who, following the death of his wife of 45 years, came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life – which included a younger boyfriend, Andy (Goran Visnjic of ER). The upheavals of Hal’s new honesty, by turns funny and moving, brought father and son closer than they’d ever been able to be. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him.
At once deeply personal and universal, Beginners was inspired by Mike Mills’ own father and is meant in turn to inspire everyone weighing their chances and choices in life and love.

REVIEW:

The movie revolves around the topic of "LOVE". Alot might tell me they dun like to watch art films, coz they can't understand what's it all about, but I must say this movie has it's equal parts of comedy, romance, and tear jerking moments.

The writer/director Mike Mills (a graphic designer turned filmmaker), based this movie as a memory of a straight son, Oliver (Ewan McGregor) and his dying gay father, Hal (Christopher Plummer) and also his search for a love. The movie began when Hal was already dead, but Hal doesn't just live in his son's memory, he greatly affects Oliver's feelings and how he expresses his love to Annie, Melanie Laurent.

I loved how the movie was filmed with a glow around the characters, making it all so beautiful to watch, almost like those scenes that you would imagine "heaven". And also the occasional images of objects, illustrations and photographs to follow what Oliver was narrating instead of the boring scene of him sitting there talking.

One might find the movie pretty confusing as it jumps from past to present very often, but I find it's the director's interpretation of Oliver's messy life, messy memory as he is one who thinks alot before his every step. Everything ties up nicely with Oliver's soft soothing voice (maybe I am bias? As I love Ewan McGregor...) and the cute doggy, Cosmo, who was wonderful in acting and expression.

The movie left me thinking lots and lots when I got home, I love this kind of movie instead of those that you watch and forget about it in the next few hours or days. In fact, it inspired me to get my pen and paper out to draw. I guess the character Oliver's, work as an artist inspired me deeply?

A note on the side. I bought Garrett popcorn on the way home and was enjoying it as hubby was not around. I had something to fill my emptiness... :)

Blogs Huney'z Been Following

Hi Huneybees,

Ever since becoming a blogger, I have also been reading up and following some bloggers' blogs. Some interest me, some are because I've made friends with them at events and found their blogs pretty interesting. Let me introduce some to you...

1) http://www.hpility.sg/

Hong Peng aka HP is our president for the G+ group of Nuffnang, how can I not follow right? He has a lot of readers for his blog and I'm in love that he always updates his blog almost everyday of things happening in Singapore and that he also has a "fetish" for Korean songs. Love his recommendations on the blog, even though I don't know what they are singing about, but it's all super catchy songs.

2) http://iisjong.blogspot.com/

Joey aka iisjong is someone I met during a blogging event and first impression of her is that she's so young and different from all bloggers. Everyone was going jap/korean inspired with their fake lashes and contact lenses, she just hid behind her big ass glasses and looked so hyper and adorable! She's a HUGE fan of Rikkakuma and I love how she incorporates her soft toys in parts of her blog posts. The posts can be seen that she puts in lots of effort while writing and not writing for the sake of writing.....

3) http://www.scrangie.com/

Being a nail art fanatic myself, of course I must follow back some other nail art bloggers to find out what's new in the nail art market. She's from United States and so she tends to be the first to spread about news of new collection from O.P.I., China Glaze, etc. She's not bias in her posts and she also does a lot of comparison which helps alot when I am buying my nail polishes.

4) http://daily-nail.blogspot.com/

I stumbled upon this blog many moons ago while searching online for ideas for my nail art and I found her! She's from Las Vegas and at that time she was on the 365 days Project, where she created 365 different nail designs almost daily. Her ideas were so creative and almost effortless and I love it! Even though she has finished with the project and doesn't blog as often, I still get excited to read her blog posts everytime she updates as she always surprises me with her nail art designs.

5) http://blog.ditz-revolution.net

Helga Gabrielle Weber is from Philippines, a web and graphic designer (*like me). Her blog is mainly of her clothing, sense of fashion, but there's also alot of other beautiful photos that she takes. I find her sense of fashion super couture and she tends to mix and match her clothes in ways I never thought of.

She's currently in pink, blond hair with a shaved side parting (how cool is that right?) and maybe coz of the weather I find her clothings very feasible for the us to wear here in Singapore. She doesn't act cute in her posts and keeps them short and sweet, mainly with lots of photos to inspire. I think is amust for all ladies who love to stay in fashion!

6) http://colourhuney.blogspot.com/

Yes! I recommend myself! This blog of mine is new and I adore it like baby, because I get to share my beauty secrets with the world. Who says plus size girls have to be hidden at a corner?! I stepped out confident and not afraid to express myself with colours (makeups and nail arts), why shouldn't you?

I'm not being bias here, but as a blog reader, I would recommend you guys to read this blog  as I only recommend the best and even list out the pros and cons for you guys, so that you guys can consider "deep deep" before "plunging" in to get that product. I strive to inspire all girls out there to be beautiful and confident of themselves, effortlessly. Always check back for updates and more creative ideas!!

Sabe Lá... Catedral

Adoro a Banda Catedral. Já disse aqui no blog. Vejam que linda essa música...tão calma...apazigua o coração...Linda!

Tenho a voz do meu amor

Dentro do meu coração

Tenho o amor que me dá paz

Que dá força pra seguir

Que me tira da aflição

Que me mostra aonde ir

Sabe Lá...

Catedral

Tenho a voz do meu amor

Dentro do meu coração

Livre, forte, sem temor

Melodia da canção

Sabe lá, sabe lá

Sabe lá o que é amar

Sabe lá, sabe lá

É difícil explicar

É ceder, mais que querer

É um eterno aprender

É preciso mesmo sem

Necessariamente ser

É poesia e emoção

É razão sem perceber

É sonhar sem medo algum

É não querer entender

Sabe lá, sabe lá

Onde mora a paixão

Sabe lá, sabe lá

Confundir a ilusão...

What the bug?!

Hi Huneybees,

When I came back home with hubby today we spotted this little creature hanging around my wardrobe. It's a like a mosquito, like a fly, but super shiny, shimmery like those Scarab bugs in the "Mummy" movies. I tried Googl-ing it, but no results. If you guys know please let me know?

Upon seeing such a beautiful creature, I immediately pulled out our Nikon DSLR and played with our Macro lens. It's been awhile I used Macro and I was super excited that I took 100 over photos just for this insect. I picked out a few nicer ones to show ya guys....

The little insect dropped from the wardrobe and passed away shortly after, wonder is it coz it has a pretty short life or it was injured?
